According to Timber Industry News sources, the supply of logs in South America to China has recently restarted.

An export company has just celebrated the first simultaneous loading of three log ships in South America.

Log exporters in Uruguay currently load approximately 65,000 JASm3 from Fray Bentos and Montevideo ports shipped to China every week, with an average selling price of US$118-120/JASm3.

Exporters supplying logs and sawn timber to India have turned their supply to China.

Many Chinese log and sawn timber wholesalers contacted by Timber Industry News said they have contacted new suppliers or suppliers who have not heard from them for several years.
